Today, Guelph City Council recognized members who responded to a VSA (Vital Signs Absent) call at the West End Rec Centre.
During the emergency, first responders immediately initiated CPR and administered multiple shocks using an AED to Don, pictured in blue.
As first responders, we rarely get to see the outcome of the calls we attend. We do the job, we move on to the next call, and often never know the outcomes. Moments like this matter. They remind us that all the training and the work we do makes a difference, and moments like this play an important role in recognition, closure, and responder mental health.

The Guelph Fire Charity delivered diapers & wipes to Groves Hospital & Foundation in Fergus to help out during the holiday season, along with the generous support from Domenic & Sue from No Frills, Dave Aubrey Real Estate & Nick FitzGibbon Sales Representative, Coldwell Banker Neumann Real Estate at Coldwell Banker Neumann Real Estate & The Let’s Talk Real Estate Team, and the Guelph Firefighters - IAFF 467.

Today, the Guelph Fire Charity, along with the generous support of community partners, was able to donate 30 boxes of diapers, 14 boxes of wipes, baby wash and vaseline to The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital. Our sincerest thanks and appreciation goes out to Domenic and Sue of No Frills (Harvard Rd), Dave Aubrey and Nick Fitzgibbon at Coldwell Banker Neumann Real Estate & The Let’s Talk Real Estate Team, and the Guelph Professional Fire Fighters Association, for helping add to the impact of this donation!
